Japan is the future.

Now, although this looks like a 1940's washing machine or mainframe computer (yes I know that they didn't exist then), it is, in fact, a Japanese cash machine (ATM).

The machines are touch-screen.

Inbetween the sliding doors to the street is an umbrella rack. On a Sunday afternoon, with not a soul to be seen, there were four umbrellas left unstolen in the rack.

Why?

"But of course! This is Japan!"

However, little did I suspect that right next to these machines there was theft a theft going on right under my nose.

In high tech style. Of course.

This machine is a Card Loan machine. You put in your debt/credit card, put in some info, and out pops some money for you to enjoy.
Then the following morning, you realise that its between 6 and 27% (Yes, really) apr.

Apparently, there are some cases of people using this kind of thing, not realising that it is not an ATM.
