Buyer Beware - This Way Lies Danger

Now, what could be more inocent that such a nice-looking pastry?



Made by "Pan Delicioux" (even I can understand what that means), the package promises:

A fluffy, quite-sweet, sugar-coated Danish !


"


However, in Japanese, the word for cake-like bready stuff in general is Pan (I think I know where that came from), as is the word for bread.


And this stuff, when microwaved, is the messiest, gooeyest sponge of sugar outside of a school cafeteria:
 

 
I still ate it though. Who do you think I am? Aristole Onasis? Could have heated up a slice of white bread and a cup of sugar, would have been about the same.
