How to Accidently Call Yourself a Wanker

While my Japanese has been improving, and I can do a wicked-bad-ass translation of an annual report, I do occasionally get caught out.

Now, the other day, applying for a skype account, I chose the name Osaka (fairly self-explainatory, I felt), and Naniwa, which is the old-school name for Osaka.

So Skype automatically suggested the concatenation "Onaniwa".

"What a fine idea", thought I, and readily adopted my new handle.

Fortunately, I was fairly soon notified by non-cynical people, that, in Japanese this name means "wanking".

My username has now been changed.
