Culinary word of the day - Omulaisu

OK - what is this?

Omlette? Yes.

But also no.

The discerning eater soon discovers a filling of ... rice.

In classic Japanese fashion, this is called an Omurice (Omlette plus Rice), or Omuraisu.

It's 600Yen ($6), and the brown sauce is oniony-sweet, while the white stuff is horseradish.

The rice is a "dry curry", meaning that it is curry-powder fried rice. Overall, satisfying, tasty, original, and highly Japanese.
