Hunting for dinner in Umeda? Must win!

Walking around Umeda Station in Osaka, you come across this.

Now, no one seemed to know why it's here. But I like it because it makes the place look more mysterious and exotic.

On the other side, we enter the vast network of food-tunnels, where we will hunt for dinner.

Perhaps stop off to charge your phone at the Phone Charge Station. It is price down to 100Y for 20mins ($1). In the UK, this would be vandalised within all of 30, no, maybe 25 minutes. Or the phones would be stolen from inside. Or both.

This place is famous for Tonkatsu, fried breaded pork. Definately worth investigating.

Window looks good.

Japanese people eat Katsu before exams, because "Katsu" also means win/victory. In this way, victory over the exam is sealed.

Done. $12 for the tonkatsu. Really, very tasty. Crunchy outside, smooth pork inside. Probably too fatty. But unlimited miso soup, rice, and salad included. And tea. The leaf on the tonkatsu looks exactly like a marijuhuana leaf.

  2. That is indeed an important consideration.

But have you also considered the deliciously crunchy meatiness?

I think it's an important factor.
