Now, apologies if you already are familiar with this. I think that a healthy and tasty snack is in order. So we must head down to our preferred convenient food supplier (Family Mart), and check out the Onigiri section. Perfect little triangles of rice, tasty filling and crispy seaweed - what could be better?
Well, the challenge will be to open it quickly and neatly. Here we have Prawn Mayo, Tuna Mayo, and Grilled Tarako, all classics, except for the Tarako, which is Cod Ovum. Yes, exactly.
But wait! A new option has emerged - the ground chicken onigiri! $1 for all that goodness!
You can also get beef. Sounds promising.
So here is the secret to the technology revealed.
Firstly, you may want to warm up by doing some quick and easy Origami.
Now, you start with the top corner.
Pull that all the way down. Then carefully pull at both sides. If you are a ham-fisted foreigner you may end up with Nori all over the place.
Almost there.
Perfect!
Alternatively, you may want to buy the version that comes in a easy-to-open bag. But without the crispy Nori you really are making a sacrifice.
And this reminds me somewhat of the market.
Some things are worth being patient for.
