Panda in the Sando

OK, occasionally, and I mean very occasionally, you glimpse a product on the shelf, walk straight past, continuing to ruminate over the missing ingredient to the salad you may have already named, say, "Super Jumbo Plus", when, at that point, after three or four footsteps of progress, you mentally put the salad into a convenient draw, stomp straight back to said product, and demand of it why, of all times, did it have to grab your attention right now, and with such violence?

Fortunately, as we are in the land of well-executed technology (land of the rising sun is ok, but technically not an especially differentiating description), there is always a hidden gem out there.

Such as...

... Panda in the Sando (Sandwich)!

A sandwich cutter featuring a panda!  You can buy it here, $8 (even though it was $7 in the shop).  Now, I am not at all in the market for a sandwich cutter.  I just don't understand why you want to throw out 1/3 of the bread - why not eat the filling on it's own?

However, there are the charmingly over-engineered instructions.

And the panda looks so happy!

And here is my favourite bit -

- Mr Panda San making a panda-in-the-sando himself! (The sound is of him pushing down hard on the sando cutter - "Guuuu").

And, of course, he is very polite while he is doing this:

"Thank you so very much for buying !"

And this reminds me a little of the market.

Sometimes you need to listen to your gut.

But listen too much and you'll end up with a panda in the sando.
